Directs and coordinates operational activities by coordinating, gathering, and analyzing raw product information to best fit South Basin plant production needs while balancing field and storage raw product logistics and priorities. Position is also in charge of supervising the transportation of raw product and performing the essential duties listed below either personally or through subordinate leads or contractors. It is the primary responsibility of the Raw Product Coordinator to assure delivery of raw product needed to the plant in a timely manner. This delivery must ensure that the flow is sufficient to maintain enough inventories of appropriate raw product quality in holding bays, to allow production to take place without interruption over the course of the operating schedules. The end goal will also include striving to deliver raw product that will maximize plant’s production and quality using the appropriate available raw product mix. In order to maintain this standard, direct communication must take place with Production Superintendents, Production Team Leaders, Sr. Ag Operation Specialists, as well as the Managers of each of these departments. Regular oversight of the grading and scaling processes involved in determining grower payment and raw information will also be a responsibility of the Raw Coordinator position. Position is considered a mentoring position for Field Management, and for Plant Superintendent responsibilities. High level of skill in data analysis is critical for the position. Schedules the movement of raw product from the source to the plant. This includes the supervision of out-of-field loading and storage unloading operations. Must work closely with grower and plant production personnel to coordinate deliveries that will maximize both plant needs and balance grower loading efficiencies. This will include regular attendance of plant finished product evaluation cuttings, and daily communication with plant production personnel to aid in providing the best raw product fit to plant production needs for all South Basin production facilities. It includes ensuring strong communication with growers and/or loading contractors to maximize loading efficiencies while ensuring raw quality to the plants. Responsible to coordinate with Oregon Department of Agriculture or plant QA personnel to ensure efficient and proper raw product grading both for grower payment, as well as critical information needed for proper field and storage dispositioning. Responsible to ensure raw product information is gathered, is without error, is analyzed and presented in a manner that can efficiently be used to make timely raw product decisions. Coordinates sampling of field and storage raw product used for dispostioning decisions. Coordinates sampling of field and storage raw product used to determine grower payment. Career Track Intent of position is to gain experience in all levels of yearly Field Department related activities. Gaining knowledge in raw product information systems, raw product cost analysis, forecasting and budgeting. This position is meant to provide experience that will aid in Agricultural Management positions, or in later Plant Management positions. The position, due to its daily activities that delve deeply into so many aspects of the field operations side of the business, create a natural training opportunity for later management potential in both field or plant operations. It is a training position for Field Manager position, as well as an excellent training situation for potential plant operations management if one were to come to the position by way of shift supervisory experience. A deep understanding of raw product costs aids in superior plant management potential. A period of time in the Raw Coordinator position prior to moving on to a Plant Superintendent spot would be a valuable addition to a future operations or upper management candidate.Key Accountabilities
Maintains safe work practices at all times and participates in safety programs. Directs safety programs for all those working directly for Lamb Weston, under the supervision of this position. Within its functional area this position is directly responsible for accident prevention and safety promotion, administration of activities with the confines of the current labor agreement, conducting, its activities in a manner to support positive employee/management relations, and adherence to company approved policies and procedures. Train and supervise subordinates in safety and accident prevention practices to assure a safe employee and working environment. Administer company personnel policies and provisions to maintain a safe productive work force. Responsible to ensure inventory and sampling data management systems are implemented in such a way to ensure proper identification and scaling of raw product paid for by the plant facilities. Must audit driver, scale dispatchers, raw leads, and storage crew handling of load delivery tickets to assure accuracy of scaled deliveries and payment grades. Directs the repair and maintenance of vehicle rolling stock and other equipment used by subordinates to assure the availability of this equipment for use in it’s appropriate function. This position is responsible for variable cost and R & M overhead for any company owned related equipment under this position’s responsibility. Must assure that the equipment and operation of the equipment is in compliance with State, Local and Federal Laws, including, but not limited to Lamb Weston, OSHA, DOT, and State Patrol standards. Responsible for training, evaluation, and direction of employees involved in use of company owned equipment under this position’s responsibility. Must assure that the field equipment and the operations of the equipment are in compliance with Lamb-Weston and all regulatory agencies standards that pertain. Keeps up with current technological developments which could result in improved safety performance, and cost savings to Lamb-Weston. Direct the movement of raw product from the source to the plant, to assure that plant raw product needs are met in a manner consistent with budgeted cost goals. Inspects automotive equipment, ensuring scheduling of needed repair or service work. Coordinates operation and maintenance of related repair facilities. Directs recording of expenses and analyzes purchase and repair costs to control expenditures. Arranges for insurance coverage and licensing on vehicles. Assigns trucks and passenger cars for use. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises 6 Field Lead/Scale Attendant employees and 3 Sr. Ag Operation Specialists in the South Basin Field Department, centered out of Boardman East facility. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, scheduling, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Skills & Experience

Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university. Prefer experience in plant production at the level of shift supervisor or above, and/or experience in potato agricultural operations. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and be able to learn readily, Purchasing Systems, Contact Management systems such as Extend Ag, Grading Management systems such as Grade Star; Manufacturing software and Spreadsheet software. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations May be required to obtain an Oregon and or Washington Pesticide License.
