Our hiring process

If you are looking to advance your career with Lamb Weston, you may have questions. Check out our hiring process, interview tips, and frequently asked questions to learn more.

Step 1: Learn about Lamb Weston

Research and learn more about our values, culture, products, and business model.

Step 2: Apply to job

Submit your application to a job (or several jobs!) that fits your needs at careers.lambweston.com. If you have already applied, you can view your application progress here.

Step 3: Phone screen

If you are selected, you will meet with one of our recruiters to discuss your interest and possible fit for the job. If you move forward, you will be scheduled for an interview with the hiring team.

Step 4: Interview

The interview is an opportunity to meet with your potential manager or teammates. Interviews may be with a single person or with a panel and each position may require multiple interviews. Make sure you arrive to the interview on time and make a good impression!

Step 5: Job offer

If you are offered the position, you will be contacted to determine your compensation, start date, benefits, expectations, etc. You may be asked to complete a background check and/or drug test depending on the role and location.

Step 6: Prepare for day 1

Once your offer is signed, you will be contacted with information on what to bring and what to expect on your first day of work.

Prepare your own questions in advance

Asking questions relevant to the job, team, and company shows that you took the initiative to understand the role that you applied to and shows the recruiter that you did your research ahead of time.

Review the job description before the interview

The qualifications section of the job description will give you hints at what interviewers are looking for in an ideal employee. You will also find keywords, industry terms, software, technology, and tools that you can discuss in your interview which will increase your chances of landing an offer!

Dress to impress and arrive early

Whether you are interviewing in-person or virtually, you want to put your best foot forward. Plan to arrive 10 – 15 minutes early for your scheduled interview so that you are prepared and ready to go.

Download application if interviewing virtually

If you are scheduled for a virtual interview on Microsoft Teams, it is a good idea to download and test the app before your meeting to avoid any technical issues. Be aware of your location and avoid distracting backgrounds or sounds during your interview.

Send a follow up email after interview

Expressing your appreciation for the time of the recruiter and interviewer(s) goes a long way and reaffirms your interest. This will also help you stay connected for future opportunities.

Our manufacturing facilities are focused on safety for all Lamb Weston visitors and employees. It would be appropriate to dress casually for an interview at one of our plants. If interviewing at a Lamb Weston office, please dress professionally for your interview.

When you apply for the opportunity in Workday, you can include the referral at that point. If you are selected to interview, please let the recruiter know so they can make note on your profile.

In the US, a pre-hire drug test is required to ensure Lamb Weston’s high food safety requirements.

Your first day details will be provided to you ahead of your start date by Human Resources. Please make sure your email is correct on your application as that is where the details will be sent.
