Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for supporting the requisitioned transportation from freight carriers to ship plant products by performing the following duties.
Job Description
- Complete and track paperwork for inbound and outbound truck and rail loads. Run next day orders and hang on order board.
- Trace shipments and obtain proof of delivery, relaying shipping information to customers and other company representatives.
- Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements and ensure that freight is properly routed.
- Process transactions in warehouse management system.
- Maintain rail car movement and logs.
- Prepare standard reports, gathers and summarizes data.
- Upload pictures from camera onto computer for order tracking.
- Perform other clerical tasks such as typing, copying, correspondence, and keeping files.
- Actively engage in safety, participate in safety programs, safety activities, and demonstrate ownership as well as leadership in personal safety of other team members.Report all incidents, near misses, and any safety concerns.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Education/ Certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
Skills and Experience:
- 1 year experience in a similar role or in customer service
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Experience using computer-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Inventory Systems required (ASCTrac and/or SAP preferred)
- Strong collaboration skills required for both interdepartmental communication and training opportunities.
- Strong desire to learn and improve processes.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
Physical Environment/Demands:
- Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
- Most work is conducted in a quiet work environment, although will occasionally be exposed to a noisy warehouse environment throughout the day
- Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation
- Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
- Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate’s work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $41,430.00 - $62,150.00
