Job Description Summary

Provides Category Analysis support for assigned sales area. Monitors sales and analyze performance trends to identify issues and opportunities.

Job Description

  • Enables sales teams to provide category-focused counsel to customers supporting the Lamb Weston MAPS (Merchandising, Assortment, Pricing and Shelving) objectives.
  • Supports new and core item plans from a category perspective.
  • Conducts periodic and annual category reviews.
  • Gathers information and conducts analyses of category segmentation and assortment analyses for specific customers.
  • Provides information and insights to support the development of sales presentations.
  • Conducts shelving and space analyses, with a focus on improving shelf productivity and shopper experience. This includes development and recommendation of category planograms.
  • Translates knowledge and data into actionable insights that form the basis for new tactics and strategies.
  • Assists others in the use of data and insights.
  • Develops and maintains scheduled scan/panel data reports, and conducts ad hoc reporting, as needed. This includes internal customer data, syndicated consumption and panel data as well as Lamb Weston shipment data.

Qualifications:

  • Education:   Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience:  3-5 years of related industry experience or a related combination of education and experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • In-depth expertise in the use and applications across a variety of technologies and tools, including Microsoft Office Suite (with emphasis on Excel and Power BI) and third-party data sources (Circana, Nielsen, SPINS)
  • Ability to work with raw retailer data, e.g. POS, FSP, Retail Link; space management software (Space Planning, Blue Yonder) a plus.
  • Ability to travel independently up to 10%

Supervision Received:  Works under the supervision and guidance of the Manager of Category Leadership and the Sr. Manager of Category Leadership, with input from the Sales Director.

  • Helping enable Team Leadership   through consistent category reviews, activation of tools to turn insights into actionable recommendations

  • Relationship Management - Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with customers to identify opportunities, and promote business growth and achieve business goals, through a shared understanding of success criteria- Foundation - Negotiates with specific customer contacts using a basic understanding of customer needs.
  • Cross-Functional Resourcing - Ability to understand, apply and integrate knowledge of Lamb Weston, its customers and the industry as a whole, across all functional areas to optimize performance - Foundation - Understands Lamb Weston organization, brands, and product attributes, as well as those of specific customers

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate’s work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $69,500.00 - $104,240.00
