Job Description Summary

The Director of Procurement, Logistics will be responsible for leading Procurement for transportation & warehousing expenditures.

This role will serve as a strategic pillar of Procurement by establishing & executing strategies aligned with the company’s mission & overall strategic goals related to growth, cost savings, supply continuity & risk management. This role will develop & execute a strategic vision for procurement to drive key Supply Chain outcomes & will elevate Procurement’s status by serving as a trusted partner/advisor to logistics operations & exceeding internal stakeholder expectations to earn the respect of senior leaders across the company.

In addition, the Director will be tasked with acting as a change agent, furthering the deployment of best-in-class procurement capabilities that work for the business & governance structures where strategic sourcing is driven from a company-wide perspective. The role is expected to implement innovative improvements to logistics & warehousing procurement procedures, processes & systems to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Strong interpersonal skills & the ability to interface at all levels of the enterprise will be essential or this role to drive the intended organizational change.

Job Description

  • Optimize a “book of business” toward company cost, quality, delivery & service objectives
  • Lead global strategy development & deployment for logistics & warehousing procurement requirements
  • Shift the sourcing process from transactional bidding to execution of a long-term, strategic plan that is aligned with supply chain leaders
  • Oversee critical supplier negotiation strategy development & execution
  • Focus on delivering incredible customer experience, sensitive to the company culture & ways of working, valuing stakeholder engagement, collaboration of teams & supplier relationships
  • Lead global supplier relationship management (SRM) program
  • Drive the continuous improvement process of network optimization for the distribution cycle
  • Lead complex sourcing efforts & negotiations with strategic suppliers
  • Partner with stakeholders to create advanced category strategies that plan for strategic sourcing, value engineering & demand management opportunities
  • Hire, develop & retain talent while building outstanding leadership capabilities
  • Identify opportunities to extract additional value/innovation from the supply base
  • Passionately support ESG outcomes
  • Consult with Legal to enable negotiation of contracts in an efficient & effective manner
  • Contribute procurement performance & inflationary targets as part of annual planning cycle

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Procurement, Logistics, Supply-Chain or equivalent industry/subject matter
  • Experience in the Food Manufacturing Industry a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree is required, Masters in a business-related field preferred
  • Demonstrated top performance in prior role(s) with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Demonstrated management capabilities, especially related to leading strategic initiatives, driving performance, leading change efforts & producing superior results through sustainable collaboration
  • Demonstrated experience managing large, diverse teams & resources
  • Track record of transforming & or leading the continuous improvement of procurement
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, manage, develop & retain top talent; a recognized leader & natural mentor
  • Knowledge of SAP ERP & related systems including, but not limited to, S/4 Hana, SAP Ariba & SAP Concur
  • Possess the ability & knowledge to negotiate, manage & enforce complex agreements
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate productively with cross-functional, cross-geography teams
  • Excellent ability to operate in uncertain environments & deliver under pressure
  • Ability to develop & influence relationships at all levels of the business

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate's work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role is listed below.

Pay Rate or Range: $142,910.00 - $214,360.00
