Job Description Summary

We are seeking a strategic data-driven GM-minded Leader of Brand Management, Sales, and Category Leadership to join our Commercial leadership team. Reporting to SVP/GM of North America Retail, Marketing, Insights and Innovation, this leader’s team will be responsible for synthesizing brand, private label, internal/external analytics and customer strategies into actionable account plans. Location: Boise, Idaho with 40%-50% travel

Job Description

Brand Management

  • Convert Insights and analytics into actionable customer, segment and channel plans.

  • Identify gaps and build road map to grow our people and our retail capabilities.

Commercial Strategy & Capabilities

  • Translate internal/external analytics and marketing/portfolio strategies into an overarching retail strategy across channels and customers.

  • Leverage our market enviable house-of-brands and private label capabilities to achieve top and bottom-line growth.

  • Sharpen our Joint Business Planning, analytics and forecasting capabilities.

  • With Finance/RGM leadership, oversee pricing, promotions, category management, and sales planning to ensure alignment with AOP and 5-year Strat plan.

  • Through a GM mindset monitor and communicate key business trends including shipments, consumption and financial performance.

  • Foster collaboration with Supply Chain (S&OP, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Customer OPS) to deliver cost productivity while investing in capabilities and maintaining outstanding OTIF rates.

  • Lead Brand teams, collaborate with the Innovation teams to drive breakthrough and renovation strategies (Packaging, Product R&D and Commercialization PMO).

  • Champion the Brand, Portfolio, Innovation, Omni-channel demand generation strategies as well as optimize our Private Label strategy.Identify new product and commercial opportunities to drive revenue, margin and profit growth.

  • Balance our house-of-brands and private label mix for net sales growth.


Team Development & Collaboration

  • Utilizing your in-depth industry knowledge and hands on experience, develop talent and organizational capabilities across Sales, Category Leadership and Marketing.

  • Act as the internal voice of Sales, advocating for customers and prioritizing initiatives.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Education,Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sales, business or related field; MBA preferred

  • 15+ years of Brand Management experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods industry (Marketing, Category Leadership, Commercial/Sales), or suitable combination of education and experience

  • 10+ years of P&L ownership, or suitable combination of education and experience

  • Experience with both branded and private label businesses

  • Track record of leading teams across multiple classes of trade including Walmart, Mass, Club, Dollar, Grocery and eComm and strong account plan acumen (Miller Heiman, Richardson, etc.)

  • Strong command of P&L, trade strategy/ROI analysis, IBP/S&OP forecasting and syndicated data resources (Nielsen/IRI and primary market research)

  • Deep knowledge of Category Leadership; synthesizing multiple/external data sources into compelling customer/channel accounts plans delivering consistent growth and Omnichannel impact

  • Recent Marketing leadership experience encompassing brand, portfolio management, Omnichannel platforms and innovation/design thinking

Physical Environment/Demands:

  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment

  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear

  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of normal workday

  • Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties

  • Manufacturing or farm tours may include hot/cold temperatures/temperature changes, wet/dry and sometimes uneven walking surfaces, stairs, loud machinery

  • Ability to travel independently to customers and navigate Lamb Weston manufacturing facilities and ag farm locations while on company or customer tours

  • Leverage market insights, customer needs, and competitive intelligence to create actionable plans that drive long-term growth, brand differentiation, and market share expansion.​

  • Deep market knowledge, including consumer behavior, competitive analysis, and category trends, to inform strategies and deliver impactful results across the organization.​

Business andCommercial/OperationalAcumen

  • Strong understanding of commercial/business operations, financial metrics enabling the development of marketing and innovation strategies that drive profitability and support overall business objectives

  • Proficiency in how cost of goods and P&L’s are developed and key levers (cost inputs, trade/promotion, transportation & warehousing) impacting business profitability.

Brand Management

  • Leads development of, and vigilance over, clear, consistent, and distinctive Brand positioning

  • Ensures consumer relevant Brand Plans that are consistent with Brand positioning and that build Brand Equity

  • Champions the concept if Brand Equity, defines objectives consistent with Brand positioning, and benchmarks success

Innovation & Creative Thinking

  • Generate innovation pipeline to drive growth and differentiation by identifyingemerging trends and transforming ideas into impactful, market-leading initiatives. 

  • Foster a culture of innovative thinking through design-thinking methodologiesto propose or initiatenew ideas, methods, ways of working, processes, products and packaging, etc. 

Global Brand Building

  • Build a strong understanding of Lamb Weston’s brand equity frameworks, including communicating compelling brand propositions, reinforcing reasons to believe, and acting as ambassadors to ensure the brand is consistently represented across all touchpoints.

Product & Portfolio:

  • Develop a knowledge of portfolio and product brand structure to effectively design and oversee portfolio strategy, project execution, and initiatives to drive portfolio optimization. Understanding of the product lifecycle management process to manage portfolio impacts.

Marketing Communications:

  • Expertise in creating and executing integrated communications strategies that engage key customer segments and optimize channel performance. 

  • Ability to develop insight-driven,compelling content across various platforms, driving brand awareness, strengthening customer loyalty, and delivering impactful campaigns aligned with business goals.​

Data & Insights Analytics

  • ​Ability turn internal and external insights into actionable strategies to deepen understanding, drive decision-making, enable fact-based selling, and inspire new thinking.

  • Use data and analytics to formulate recommendations, inform priorities, optimize performance.

Development of Self & Others

  • Commitment and follow through to demonstrate ongoing professional development (includingtrain, guide, coach, knowledge sharing), analyze team needs, invest in learning journey, continually advance knowledge and present development opportunities.

A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $200,810.00 - $301,210.00
