PHYSICAL STRUCTURES IN A FOOD PROCESSING PLANT DESIGNED TO PRODUCE FROZEN
POTATO PRODUCTS .
Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- RESPONSIBLE FOR WORKING IN A SAFE AND ORDERLY MANNER WHILE IN THE PLANT ON THE PLANT PROPERTY.
- VISUALLY INSPECTS AND TESTS MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT.
- LISTENS FOR UNUSUAL SOUNDS AND VIEWS MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT TO DETECT MALFUNCTIONS AND DISCUSSES MACHINE OPERATION VARIATIONS WITH SUPERVISORS OR OTHER MAINTENANCE WORKERS TO DIAGNOSE PROBLEM OR REPAIR MACHINE.
- DISMANTLES DEFECTIVE MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT AND INSTALLS NEW OR REPAIRED PARTS.
- CLEANS AND LUBRICATES SHAFTS, BEARINGS, GEARS, AND OTHER PARTS OF MACHINERY.
- REPAIRS AND MAINTAINS PHYSICAL STRUCTURE OF ESTABLISHMENT.
- LAYS OUT, ASSEMBLES, INSTALLS, AND MAINTAINS PIPE SYSTEMS AND RELATED STEAM AND REFRIGERATION, HYDRAULIC AND PNEUMATIC EQUIPMENT, AND REPAIRS AND REPLACES GAUGES, VALVES, PRESSURE REGULATORS, AND RELATED EQUIPMENT.
- OPERATES CUTTING TORCH OR WELDING EQUIPMENT TO CUT OR JOIN METAL PARTS.
- SETS UP AND OPERATES MACHINE TOOLS SUCH AS LATHE, MILL, GRINDER, AND DRILLS, TO REPAIR OR FABRICATE MACHINE PARTS, JIGS, FIXTURES AND TOOLS.
- MUST HAVE WORKED AS MAINTENANCE I FOR A SPECIFIC PERIOD OF TIME AS OUTLINED IN THE MAINTENANCE II REQUIREMENTS OUTLINE BEFORE HAVING THE ABILITY TO TEST.
- PERFORMS OTHERS AS ASSIGNED.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS;
- TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY, AN INDIVIDUAL MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM EACH ESSENTIAL DUTY SATISFACTORILY. THE REQUIREMENTS LISTED BELOW ARE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND/OR ABILITY REQUIRED. REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS MAY BE MADE TO ENABLE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS.
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:
- ONE YEAR CERTIFICATE FROM COLLEGE OR TECHNICAL SCHOOL; OR THREE TO SIX MONTHS RELATED EXPERIENCE AND / OR TRAINING; OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE.
- THIS POSITION REQUIRES ADVANCE KNOWLEDGE OF THE FACTORY EQUIPMENT. THIS INDIVIDUAL MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF ONE YEAR EXPERIENCE IN A MAINTENANCE POSITION, MUST HAVE THEIR OWN SET OF HAND TOOLS (ON GOOD QUALITY, LIST AVAIL UPON REQUEST), AND MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WITH A MINIMUM OF SUPERVISION. MUST ALSO DEMONSTRATE THE ABILITY TO MAINTAIN THE LEVEL OF PERFORMANCE.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- ABILITY TO READ AND INTERPRET DOCUMENTS SUCH AS SAFETY RULES, OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS, AND PROCEDURE MANUALS. ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY WITH SUPERVISORS AND PEERS.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- ABILITY TO ADD SUBTRACT, MULTIPLY, AND DIVIDE IN ALL UNITS OF MEASURE USING WHOLE NUMBERS.
REASONING ABILITY:
- ABILITY TO SOLVE PRACTICAL PROBLEMS AND DEAL WITH A VARIETY OF CONCRETE VARIABLES IN SITUATIONS WHERE ONLY LIMITED STANDARDIZATION EXISTS. ABILITY TO INTERPRET A VARIETY OF INSTRUCTIONS FURNISHED IN WRITTEN, ORAL, DIAGRAM, OR SCHEDULE FORM.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- MAINTENANCE II: MUST STUDY A TOTAL OF 19 "TPC TRAINING SYSTEMS" MANUALS AND SUCCESSFULLY PASS A MULTIPLE-CHOICE WRITTEN TEST SCORING AT LEAST 70% OR BETTER TO UPGRADE INTO MAINTENANCE II.
