Job Description Summary
Perform production procedures as required to fulfill the daily production plan. Responsible for all SS hoppers, hand add addition and all mixer change overs on the mixer deck as required. Also responsible for planning and building hand adds. This position may be required to work any shift or all days of the week in accordance with production schedules.
Job Description
This position rotates between two areas: Hand Adds and Ingredient Deck on L3.
Hand Add Operator Expectations
· Perform production procedures as required to fulfill the daily production plan. Responsible maintaining minimum hand adds supply. Assisting with production change overs packaging change overs and break coverage. This position may be required to work any shift or all days of the week in accordance with production schedules. Hand ads and change overs according to the daily plan.
· Maintain hand adds as per Supervisor/Leads direction.
· Ability to maximize efficiency by staying ahead of the production schedule planning and building hand adds ahead of time.
· Responsible for accurate ticketing and scanning of ingredients.
· Responsible for directing forklift driver to get ingredients in a timely manner.
· Be able to maintain organization with ingredients and hand adds being made.
· Be able to manage your breaks and lunch to maximize productivity.
· Inspect hand add area at the beginning and end of each shift.
· Able to manage changeovers effectively and efficiently switching ingredients out going from one formula to the next.
Ingredient Deck and Mixer Expectations
· Under the direction of the Production Lead or Team Leader Area Production you will be in charge of Ingredient deck filling the SS hoppers and maintaining the mixer deck, this includes Hand adds and change overs according to the daily plan.
· Maintain the SS Hopper inventory
· Ability to maximize efficiency by utilizing all 4 transfer hoppers simultaneously.
· Responsible for accurate ticketing and scanning of ingredients.
· Responsible for directing forklift driver to get ingredients in a timely manner.
· Be able to maintain all bins.
· Be able to manage your breaks and lunch to maximize transfer efficiency.
· Inspect grates of all transfer hoppers at the beginning and end of each shift. Inspect mixer deck at the beginning of each shift.
· Able to manage mixer changeovers effectively and efficiently
Record Keeping
· Turn in all tickets scanned to the lead at the end of shift. (All tickets must be accounted for)
· Interaction with the HMI computer required.
· Effective use of RF scanning guns to initiate inventory transactions into the process control system.
· Maintain proper mixer hand add sign offs and other logs as required.
Housekeeping, GMP’s, and Policy
· Know the difference between allergen and non-allergen products and follows the allergen separation policy.
· Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety policies.
· Comply with all safety regulations, including Lockout and Confined Space procedures.
· Report all accidents/injuries and unsafe working conditions to management.
· Ensure that all tools and equipment are properly stored when not in use.
· Other sanitation duties as required to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Additional Skills and Expectations
· Possess a deep knowledge and understanding of the mixer and ingredient deck transfer process and have a high ability to troubleshoot problems with minimal to no help.
· Use FIFO methodology combined with the daily transfer plan to ensure that all ingredients being transferred are used in the order in which they are received.
· Must be forward thinking and possess a high ability to plan and execute multiple tasks at once.
· Elevated attention to detail.
· Exhibits ability to consistently and accurately process verbal and/or written instructions.
· Prioritize multiple tasks to maximize work efficiency.
· Report immediately any defective or broken tools or equipment.
· Complete non-ingredient deck related tasks when necessary.
· Accomplish other related work as required.
Position Qualifications:

· High School diploma or equivalent; or up to three months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Basic mathematical skills. (Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.)
· Ability to retrieve data from a computer HMI (Human Machine Interface).
· Experience in a manufacturing environment, especially food production, is helpful.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as formulas, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
· May be asked to pass safe forklift drivers test/may be required to cross-train in other production positions.
· Must be able to understand and apply plant safety rules including, but not limited to the lockout-tag-out procedure, chemical hazards and the hearing conservation program.
· Must be able to stand for extended time periods, occasionally climb on ladders or other elevated structures.
· Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally team lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
· Ability to occasionally perform job duties in dusty conditions, with possible exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
· Ability to work safely in close proximity to moving mechanical parts and forklifts.
· Must be self-driven and able to occasionally work in high, precarious places, and outside weather conditions under minimal supervision while maintaining position expectations.
Personal hygiene must meet company and government sanitation requirements. Incumbents must abide by safety rules as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s work location, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $25.00
