Job Description Summary
This position supports plant safety culture and programs ensuring a safe and accident free work environment under the direction of the plant Safety and Health Manager.
Job Description
- Help lead, teach, and foster our World Class Safety/Wellness Culture, which helps us recruit and retain a talented workforce.
- Help team members develop personally and maximize self-work to identify, manage, and execute the plant’s process improvement opportunities.
- Empower the talent of operation staff to attain an incident-free culture through Central Safety Committee involvement, Daily Risk Assessment coaching, and
- Analyze incident data to identify trends and incident types that can be prevented
- Participate the incident investigation process to determine root cause and timely corrective action.
- Assist the CSD department in developing training programs for all levels of plant personnel toward the end of a safer, more efficient, engaged and productive plant
- Provide leadership and direction for our focus groups (Ergo/Hazard ID, JHA, Key Concepts, BOS, Confined Space Rescue)
- Understand OSHA rules and regulations and be technical subject matter expert in location specific programs (Control of Hazardous Energy, Confined Space, Fall Prevention, Powered Industrial Trucks, etc.).
- Function as a technical safety resource for safety specific activities (such as noise dosiementry, measuring air quality, safety instrumentation calibration, issuing hot work permits, issuing confined space permits)
- Recommend changes to plant safety policies/programs to ensure compliance with company policies and federal/state/local regulatory requirements
- Provide assistance in ensuring safety compliance is met as outlined in location specific safety programs and policies.
- Assist in risk mitigation activities through hazard recognition, risk evaluation and risk analysis
- Assist in Tap Root, Risk Register, and other initiatives that support EHS&S
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelors or Associates degree in Safety or another related program
- High School diploma/GED required
Required:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills
- A self-motivated individual that is able to multi-task and lead others
- Ability to train and teach others
- Ability to gather and analyze data

Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, team leaders are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Team members in the plant are frequently exposed to extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration
- Team members are occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock
- The noise level in the work environment is moderate

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate's work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role is listed below.Pay Rate or Range: $69,500.00 - $104,240.00
