Job Description Summary
Under limited supervision researches, conducts experiments, gathers data, develops preliminary findings and prepares new products with written reports for the development of new products projects beginning at conception through successful commercialization. Follows established protocols and work plans. Drafts for review technical proposals and reports.

Executes experiments andpreparesresults for review.
Using consumer insights,conceptualizesand develops new product prototypes.
Formulates new products to match the ingredient statement, nutritional profile,costand product attributes of the target product.Usessensory tools tooptimizeproduct formulation internally and externally.
Presents new product ideas to cross functional team.
Develops and documents the process for the manufacture of the product.
Identifiesand executes key product quality, stability, cookingparameterand safety testing protocols.
Executes oncost saving opportunities.
Properly documents activities,conclusions,and recommendations in lab notebook.
Develops project timelines that are acceptable to management,marketing,and Product Development manager. Works closely with project manager to create andmaintainaccuratetimelines.
Developsfinished product and processing specifications.
Conducts plant trials and new product startups.
Supports sales in new productpresentationto customers.
Collaborates with Engineering/Packaging/Operations/QA and Marketing to meet project deadlines.
Other duties as assigned.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
BS in Food Science or related fieldrequired. MS preferred.
1-2 years relevant work experiencerequired, including deep knowledge andhands onexperience with food chemistry, lab analysis, and execution of new product development.
Clear,concisewrittenand verbal communication.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Sporadic to frequent travel, including flying to all parts of the U.S.,possibly overseas, and driving a company or rental vehicle 4 to 6 hours as needed. Must be able to travel independently and as a responsible Lamb Weston representative.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate's work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role is listed below.Pay Rate or Range: $57,430.00 - $86,140.00
