Job Description Summary
This position will lead C shift in day to day operations. Maintains and repairs all equipment under utilities and services with special emphasis on efficient operation of the refrigeration engine room, freeze tunnels, boilers, steam system, cold storage, and compressed air systems, working under limited supervision by performing the following duties.
Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Cleans boilers and auxiliary equipment.
Keeps Engine rooms clean and organized.
Observes pressure, temperature, and draft meters on panel to verify specified operation of automatic combustion control systems, feed water regulators, burners, and automatic refrigeration system.
Thorough knowledge of location and operation of all related gauges, measuring equipment, and control equipment.
Analyzes and treats boiler feed water.
Maintains log of meter and gauge readings and records data, such as water test results and quantity of fuel consumed, compressor operating parameters and freezer operations.
Inspects and repairs boiler and refrigeration fittings, such as safety valves, regulators, automatic control mechanisms, sight glasses, also auxiliary machines such as pumps, draft fans, and burners.
Paints surfaces of equipment, maintains tags and labeling system.
Actively participate in PSM. Perform MI inspections and corrections, attendPSM meetings, complete corrective actions, participate in incident investigations, andcomplete tasks as directed by PSM coordinator.
Must perform general maintenance work when required throughout the plant and perform other duties as assigned by Team Leaders.
Mustmaintain complete training in all SOPs.
Assist in training lower bracket team members
Hold shift safety meetings
All other duties as assigned.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Skills/Qualifications
- 5+ years boiler and ammonia refrigeration experience in industrial food processing
- 1-2 years lead experience preferred
- RETA CIRO required
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of boiler, ammonia refrigeration, cooling towers, air compressors, large air handling
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructionsfurnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Must be able to pass a medical clearance, pulmonary test and fit test for a full face respirator and an SCBA.

Education
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience,is encouraged but not required.
Must demonstrate a general knowledge of testing and working with electrical switches, and solenoids.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must obtain a Lamb Weston issued lift truck operator's license.
Must obtain training in fall protection, confined space, hot work and use of power and shop tools.
Must obtainand maintainRETA CARO and orCIRO within 2years of employment.
Other Skills and Abilities
Must possess basic mechanical skills (i.e., plumbing, measuring, changing bearings, sheet metal work, etc).
Basic computer skills, Microsoft Office , word, excel and outlook.
Encouraged but not required:basic welding skills.
