Job Description Summary
Ensures Processing/Packaging equipment & surrounding areas are kept in a clean, sanitary & safe condition at all times.
Job Description
- Cleans and sanitizes all areas in a safe, timely and skilled manner to meet Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures.
- Understands, utilizes, and follows all SSOP’s.
- Follow LO/TO procedures at all times.
- Must be able to work in hot or cold environments.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English both in written and oral form.
- Must work safely at all times.
- Must behave in a professional manner at all times.
- Performs other functions as directed by Sanitation Team Lead, Sanitation Specialist, Sanitation Lead or Team Leads.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Have the ability and willingness to follow instructions.
- Have the required knowledge of cleaning chemicals, their use, safety precautions, proper cleaning techniques, methods, and procedures involved in cleaning the plant.
- Read, understand, and obey all plant policies and procedures while placing safety first.
- Must be conscientious and consistent in his/her work.
- Be able to work independently, possess organizational and time-management skills.
- Be able to communicate in English orally and/or in writing at a level to effectively complete the tasks of this position.
- Be knowledgeable of proper body mechanics and safe lifting techniques (ergonomics).
- Be knowledgeable of the potential hazards and safety procedures associated with the task being done.
- Be able to help other sanitation team members in the proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), proper cleaning and/or sanitizing techniques, and mixing of cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents.
- Actively practices and abides by all Company policies and procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Must maintain a good attendance record.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to effectively communicate in English.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to Team Leads, Management Team and other Team Members of the facility.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to take directions and carry out instructions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the functions of this job. While performing the duties of the job, the team member:
- Must walk or stand on concrete surface where water is frequently used to rinse equipment.
- Slick areas exist due to the presence of potato matter, starch, and grease. However, to reach some areas within the plant, the team member must climb stairs and/or ladders, use man lifts and walk on cat walks.
- Must have good eye-hand coordination.
- Is required to bend or stoop to reach lower equipment.
- Must have normal finger dexterity and range of motion.
- Is required to reach with his/her hands and arms repetitively.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Must be able to push and pull heavy items on occasion.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the functions of this job. The team member:
- Will regularly work near moving mechanical parts and vibration.
- Is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions as well as extreme heat and cold environments.
- May be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic, caustic, acid based or chlorinated chemicals.
- Will regularly work in an environment in which the noise level is usually loud.
- May be required to work from a man lift to reach elevated areas for sanitation.
- May be required to work in a confined space.
