Job Description Summary
The Production Lead role plays an integral part in plant operations which includes providing leadership, direction, and mentorship to other team members. This position is responsible for all processing operations for lines 1, 2, and 4. The Production Lead will be expected to use all VeLOCity systems and standards to positively contribute towards our plant Compelling Business Need (CBN) goals. This role presents many opportunities to function in a team-oriented environment, troubleshoot risks to their resolution, and develop into a future leader at Lamb Weston.
Job Description
Assures product is produced in a food safe manner, free of foreign material. Communicates any Foreign Material findings with Team Leaders in a timely manner and works to determine source of contamination.
Controls various operations to assure proper steps are taken to remain in compliance with USDA and FDA food laws and company policies.
Works as a team with other departments including Quality Assurance, Sanitation, Warehouse, Maintenance, and other Production Leads.
Utilizes knowledge of the function and basic operating characteristics of each piece of equipment under his/her control for proper quality and grade of the product being produced and packaged.
Will manage under our Run to Target principles towards safety, quality loss, and Asset Utilization.
Attends SDS and DDS Meetings, focusing on eliminating our losses and driving to root cause.
Validates all operator checks are completed and filed in computer per procedure.
Maintains a deep understanding of our VeLOCity systems and standards with CILs, CLs, and Defect Handling and shares that knowledge with their team, emphasizing the importance of the systems and standard to our continued progress and success as a team.
Follows all Plant Safety Policies and Good Manufacturing Practices. Is actively involved in safety, participates in safety programs, engaged in safety activities, performs risk assessments and demonstrates ownership as well as leadership in personal safety and the safety of other team members.
Actively participates in AMD activities as scheduled to ensure that all equipment is in base condition for optimal performance of the line.
Perform any other duties assigned by a Team Leader.
Must be/become qualified as a production operator of lines 1, 2, and 4. And backfills operator roles on shift as necessary.
Firewatch qualified
Uses established cleaning procedures, chemicals, tools, techniques, and maintains sanitary conditions ensuring bacteria and housekeeping are at acceptable levels.
Breaks and relieves other employees
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Skills and Experience:
Must be able to communicate, comprehend, and follow instructions in English (both written and oral).
2-5 years of experience in Food Manufacturing, or related field, preferred.
Must be able to demonstrate consistent positive leadership with all team members.
Possesses a strong work ethic and leads by example.
Demonstrates ability to think critically, using troubleshooting skills to solve problems.
Able to build team through positive leadership and cohesive teamwork.
Basic understanding and proficiency in PC skills; Windows, Word, and Excel.
Practice proper body mechanics and safe lifting techniques.
Physical Environment/Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.
Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work related equipment.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s work location, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $27.76
