Job Description Summary
This position requires constant monitoring of fluid levels and temperatures in blanchers, dryers, and fryers. It also requires monitoring of equipment to assure proper product and fluid flows throughout process and equipment.
Job Description
Include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Maintains safe work practices at all times and participates in safety programs. Must be familiar with all safety rules and practices to avoid any possible fire hazards and to ensure safety of employees in their work areas.
Monitors equipment operations and changes process settings as required.
Monitors and fills SAPP, sugar and salt mix tanks as required.
Monitors filtering of oil systems.
Monitors and makes necessary changes to additive levels.
Performs titrations for free fatty acids test of the oil.
Able to use the TESTO to measure and record Total Polar Compounds of the Fryer Oil.
Performs fry-ups to monitor product color.
Checks product at exit of blancher, dryer, and fryer to ensure adequate process standards.
Communicates problems and breaks in the line to appropriate personnel.
Maintains expected level of sanitation in work area.
Monitors batter levels and viscosity as instructed.
Starts and stops equipment as required.
Maintains oil level in fryer makeup tanks as required.
Fills out paperwork as required.
Must have a good understanding of chemicals and the hazards associated with the processing area.
Cleans under and around fryer, deoiler and precool area. Also clean around dryer and blancher area as needed.
Empties fines buckets as required.
Performs boilouts on fryer as required.
Performs assigned duties during cut changes and defrost as required.
Changes paper filter when necessary.
Changes fryer oil as instructed
Able to wear Fryer safety suit for 15 to 20min intervals
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Break other operators as assigned.
Tools and equipment used: flashlights, hot hoses, high pressure hoses, stop watches, stein cups, telephones, scrapers, foamers, shovels, squeegees, brooms, ladders (rollaway stairs), buckets, control panels/terminals, and waste carts.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Education/ Certifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Lock-out/Tag-out, Forklift, and Sanitation certification arerequired. If you are not qualified, you will be trained and must meet certification requirements.
Skills and Experience:
Experience driving forklift in warehouse or manufacturing establishment preferred.
Must be able to be qualified withintime framesestablishedbyfacility.
Ability to perform basic mathfunctions,required.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer operation knowledge, data entry skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
Physical Environment/Demands:
Ability tolift upto50pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hottocold in temperature
Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 8 hours perworkdayto include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke,smellsand allergies
Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movementsrequiredfor job actions and procedures.
Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
Requires manual dexterity, overallcoordinationand good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability tooperatework related equipment
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation
May have to sample food while evaluating Lamb Weston products
Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis
