Job Description Summary
Using established cleaning procedures, chemicals, tools, and techniques, maintains sanitary conditions in the processing plant ensuring bacteria and housekeeping are at acceptable levels. Inspects, sorts, and removes defects from product being processed in a food production facility in a safe and effective manner. Takes direction from trim trainer and team leaders.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – includes the following (other duties may be assigned): Maintains safe work practices at all times and participates in safety programs.
Performs cleaning with the use of high-pressure hoses (air and hot water), tools such as scratch pads, brushes, sponges, squeegees, paper towels, shovels, brooms, buckets, wheelbarrows, carts, ladders, garbage cans, pallet jacks, flashlights, telephones and cleaning agents.
Performs weekend clean-up as assigned . This requires a working knowledge of lock-out procedures and chemical and cleaning procedures.
Operates all machinery safely in the assigned cleaning area using lock-outs when necessary.
Removes static product, foreign material, and product buildup from equipment or areas which the team leader assigned by hand scrubbing, chemical foaming, shoveling, scraping, rinsing, and sweeping.
Properly mixes and uses potentially hazardous chemicals to clean and sanitize. Operates pallet jacks for rock and product tote removal in receiving.
Paints machinery, walls, etc. as directed.
Participates in AMO drumbeats and other continuous improvement activities.
Rotates to all General Labor workstations to complete assigned tasks.
Quickly assesses and removes foreign materials and non-standard product from moving receiving and processing equipment as assigned using both hands.
Hand sizes raw product on the trim line according to product specifications and Lamb Weston standards.
Efficiently trims defects (cuts, rot, green, sugar ends, disease, etc...) from raw product to Lamb-Weston standards. Distributes product on processing equipment to maintain even product flow.
Inspects raw product to ensure that it has been peeled, cut, cleaned, and blanched, ready for final inspection or packaging.
Performs hand-packing as assigned.
Inspects bags in packaging and removes defective bags to Lamb-Weston's standards.
Reports any irregular cuts or malfunction of food processing equipment as quickly as possible to the lead or team leaders Rework cased product into totes.
Resort and/or recycle used cases as assigned.
Monitors equipment for plug-ups.
Tote make-up and breakdown.
Hand palletize cased product.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume for the proper mixing of chemicals.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in
English. Ability to write accurate information on simple forms in English. Ability to effectively present or listen to information in one-on-one and small group situations with all other employees of the
organization in English.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions like chemical usages. Ability to deal with problems involving safety and sanitary issues etc.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to slippery, wet and/or humid conditions and toxic or hazardous chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and tight confined spaces. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, in high places, and is exposed to extreme heat and cold.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s work location, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $21.32
