Job Description Summary
The Senior Principal Enterprise Architect is a strategic leader responsible for aligning technology initiatives with business goals. This role drives enterprise-wide architecture strategy, ensuring scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions that support innovation and operational excellence. The EA works directly with top-level management to review business plans, assess the company’s current use of IT systems, and design new procedures to improve efficiency and cut costs.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Enterprise Architecture Leadership
- Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture strategy, principles, and ensure roadmap alignment with business objectives.
- Define and promote architecture standards, frameworks, and governance processes.
Strategic Technology Planning
- Evaluate current IT systems and identify opportunities for modernization, consolidation, and innovation.
- Lead the selection and adoption of platforms and technologies that maximize business value.
Solution Design & Oversight
- Review end-to-end solution designs ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business objectives.
- Provide architectural oversight for major initiatives, including cloud migration, digital transformation, platform integration, and AI adoption.
Innovation & Emerging Technologies
- Research and assess emerging technologies and trends; recommend adoption strategies to enhance competitiveness and agility.
- Champion a cloud-first, global-over-regional approach to technology deployment.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand strategic goals and translate them into technology capabilities.
- Influence and guide decision-making across IT and business units.
Governance & Risk Management
- Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and compliant with regulatory and internal standards.
- Lead risk assessments and mitigation strategies related to architecture decisions.
Mentorship & Leadership
- Provide thought leadership and mentorship to architects and technical teams.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and architectural excellence.
Application EA Domain Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the target state architecture for enterprise applications.
- Lead application portfolio rationalization efforts.
- Establish and enforce application architecture standards.
- Partner with business and IT stakeholders to evaluate and select application platforms.
- Provide architectural oversight for major application initiatives.
- Ensure application designs support scalability, security, interoperability, and performance requirements, in alignment with enterprise-wide technical standards.
- Monitor and assess emerging application technologies and trends.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, data, and security architects to ensure cohesive and integrated architecture across domains.
- Develop and maintain application reference architectures and roadmaps.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 10+ years work experience in consulting, systems, integration or architect role
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF preferred)
- Deep knowledge of enterprise platforms and cloud technologies (SAP, Salesforce, AWS, etc.)
- Experience in creating and leading architecture initiatives
- Strong business acumen and ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent leadership, collaboration, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and influence cross-functional teams.

A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $160,070.00 - $240,110.00
