Job Description Summary
Lead the analytical engine that drives Lamb Weston's network optimization decisions across footprint, sourcing, and distribution flow, and translate that work into business action, with a clear cost-to-serve and capital efficiency objective.
The Director of Supply Chain Business Analytics & Intelligence is responsible for the strategic development and application of advanced analytics, optimization, and business intelligence capabilities that enhance the performance of Lamb Weston’s end-to-end supply chain network.
This role provides enterprise leadership for network design and optimization, leveraging sophisticated analytical models to inform critical decisions regarding manufacturing footprint, capacity investments, sourcing strategies, inventory deployment, and distribution flows. In partnership with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, IT, and Commercial teams, the Director translates complex data into actionable insights that improve service, cost, inventory efficiency, and supply chain resilience, while advancing enterprise capabilities in network analytics, performance management, and decision support.
Job Description
Network Design & Optimization (Primary Focus)
- Own the network optimization roadmap and enterprise digital twin spanning plants, distribution centers, transportation flows, and fulfillment nodes
- Lead future-state network design, determining optimal footprint, sourcing strategy, storage deployment and flow paths across the global supply chain in partnership with functional leaders.
- Quantify network trade‑offs (cost to serve, capacity utilization, lead time, inventory positioning, carbon footprint) and recommend the optimal balance to executive leadership
- Build a repeatable scenario‑modeling capability to stress‑test decisions against demand shifts, capital constraints, tariffs, and disruptions — and translate model outputs into executable plans with Manufacturing, Logistics, Procurement, and Commercial
- Model network resilience — alternate sourcing, redundant capacity, re‑routing — through "what‑if" scenarios and contingency plans for demand volatility, supplier risk, and capacity constraints
- Measure and report realized value of network optimization initiatives against committed savings and service targets
Strategic Planning, Analytics & Decision Support
- Provide analytical insights that optimize network performance, capacity utilization, and supply chain flows across the manufacturing and distribution network.
- Lead the development of forecasting, optimization, and decision-support capabilities that improve planning, investment prioritization, and network strategy.
- Develop data-driven long-range capacity plans (LRCP) aligned to growth strategies and product roadmaps, supporting executive decision-making through LRCP and S&OP/IBP processes.
- Evaluate strategic alternatives, quantify trade-offs, and recommend actions that improve service, cost, inventory, and resilience outcomes
- Identify high‑impact analytics and optimization use cases that improve customer service, total delivered cost, inventory investment, and working capital, aligned to supply chain strategy, the long‑range capacity plan, and operational execution
Inventory, Service & Cost Optimization Analytics
- Develop assortment and inventory optimization models balancing demand, capacity and storage constraints, freshness, and waste across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, including optimal deployment and positioning across the network
- Quantify service, cost, and working capital trade‑offs to support decisions on capacity, sourcing, network flows, and fulfillment strategies
Data, Systems & Digital Enablement
- Partner with IT, Engineering, and data teams to deliver reliable data pipelines and scalable platforms that enable network modeling and critical decision‑making
- Maximize value from BI platforms, network modeling tools, and supply chain systems to drive integrated, end-to-end insights and improved business outcomes
- Guide production‑grade optimization and advanced analytics solutions on modern, cloud‑native stacks, including deployment, monitoring, and retraining
Leadership, Stakeholder Collaboration & Business Impact
- Build, develop, and lead a high‑performing, multidisciplinary team of analytics, data science, and network modeling professionals, setting clear standards for experimentation, production models, and model governance
- Serve as a trusted thought partner to Supply Chain and Operations leadership, translating ambiguous business problems into well‑defined analytical solutions with clear KPIs and ROI
- Drive adoption and change management so models and network recommendations are embedded in operational workflows, fostering a culture of rigor, innovation, and operational excellence
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Education/ Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in analytics, data science, operations research, industrial engineering, supply chain, business, or related field required; Master's or advanced quantitative degree preferred

- Demonstrated success leading network design and optimization studies and translating results into executed footprint, sourcing, or distribution changes
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to develop and evaluate total delivered cost and working capital models, translating network decisions into clear P&L and cash flow impacts
- Partner effectively with Commercial teams and cross-functional teams to design network scenarios that support channel and category strategies across global markets
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex, multi-variable trade-offs and communicate recommendations to executive leadership in a clear, actionable manner that enables timely decision making
- Working knowledge of network optimization tools and methodologies with the ability to direct modeling efforts, challenge assumptions, validate outputs, and translate insights into actionable business recommendations
- Advanced capability across descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics; deep experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) and advanced Excel
- Experience with enterprise systems (ERP, planning, or data platforms); SAP preferred
- Experience building analytics governance, data standards, and operating models
Preferred Skills:
