Job Description Summary

The Plant Learning & Development Manager, a member of the Lamb Weston Learning and Development team, implements learning strategies and execution across multiple manufacturing facilities, building workforce capability. This role ensures effective training programs are delivered with content that aligns with the needs of Manufacturing.

The L&D Manager partners closely with plant leadership, HR, Operations, Safety, and Quality teams to develop leaders and team members, support compliance and drive continuous improvement.

Job Description

  • Creates plant Learning and Development strategies, supporting seven Manufacturing facilities.
  • Provides direct oversight, coaching and development of Learning & Development Specialists in each plant.
  • Develops & implements impactful Learning & Development content that addresses business needs, priorities, and objectives.
  • Ensures consistent, high quality technical and operational training across facilities.
  • Facilitates dynamic, learner-centered training sessions providing engaging learning experiences.
  • Creates training material to ensure team members have the required competency development to excel in their role.
  • Confirms training material aligns with operating processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Works with local and enterprise stakeholders to coordinate and organize training sessions.
  • Ensures training programs and documentation meet food safety, regulatory and internal compliance standards.
  • Monitors training effectiveness by collecting feedback and measuring results in order to continually improve course content and facilitation.
  • Ensures training is scalable and effective by conducting train-the-trainer sessions and supporting materials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Operations, or related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • 3+ years of experience in Learning & Development or training within a manufacturing environment required - food manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience building and leading teams across multiple locations is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of technical and operational training in manufacturing settings.
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills.
  • Developing strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Background in food manufacturing environments with GMPs, HACCP, SQF, or similar standards preferred.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and training analytics is helpful but not required.
  • Experience supporting union and non‑union workforces preferred.

Work Environment

  • Regular travel to manufacturing facilities within the region (approximately 50–60%).
  • Combination of office, plant floor, and remote work.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate's work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role is listed below.

Pay Rate or Range: $101,730.00 - $152,600.00
