ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE
JOB DESCRIPTION
LOCATION: PARK RAPIDS, MN
REPORTS TO: TEAM LEAD MAINTENANCE - ELECTRICAL
SALARY LEVEL: SCHEDULE B
SHIFT: ALL
SUMMARY:Repairs, troubleshoots, and calibrates electrical systems and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Employees must be responsible to work in a safe manner following safe work practices while in the plant or on company premises.
Diagnosis malfunction building equipment, process equipment and machinery and discuss malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as process maintenance, packaging maintenance, and refrigeration maintenance to diagnose malfunction.
Communicates department work being done to Production line leads.
Assist in plant projects as well as assisting with project start ups
Diagnosis and replace faulty components on machines such as relays, switches, transformers, motor sensing devices.
Diagnosis and repair or replace faulty components, such as printed circuit boards, transmitters, receivers, and readout indicators.
Calibrates and tests measuring equipment such as scales, flow meters, level indicators, temperature, pressure, and speed indicators using the proper test equipment such as voltmeter, ammeter, signal generators, oscilloscope, and rtd simulators.
Troubleshoots process control equipment, and systems using computers to diagnose program ladder logic.
Develops and programs controllers using associated computers and software.
Interprets schematics and blueprints for installation and troubleshooting purposes.
Performs and maintains timely work orders and duties as assigned.
Works in a safe and orderly manner while in the plant or on the plant property.
Continues update training program to match new installed plant equipment.
Mentor new employees through the department training program.
Aid in owning safety and tracking completion of safety training.
Perform other duties as directed by supervisor
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:
Minimum qualification for this position is one of the following. Completion of a two-year vocational degree in electrical or electronics field or poses a current Minnesota State Electrical Masters, Journeyman, Electrical Maintenance or Power Limited license. Preferred candidate will have 2 – 4 years related industrial experience and/or training to accompany degree and or license.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratios and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must possess the ability to work well with others. Strong computer skills excel, word and Auto-CAD. Prefer P.C.and AMI software experience. Valid driver’s license required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Lift and carry up to 10 pounds frequently
Lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently
Lift and carry up to 100 pounds frequently with the help of another employee or by utilizing a mechanical lifting device
Ability to utilize good body mechanics
Ability to perform dexterity testing
Shoveling and or sweeping occasionally
Ability to work overtime occasionally
Ability to work a 6 on 2 off schedule or other types.
Ability to climb ladders and stairs frequently
Bending and twisting frequently
Ability to utilize safe work practices and follow all safety rules
Push/pull force up to 250 pounds occasionally
Standing, walking continuously
Sitting Occasionally
Ability to reach over shoulder height frequently
Ability to wear the appropriate (PPE) personal protective equipment required for the particular job task
Kneeling, crouching and crawling occasionally
Ability to work on heights requiring a safety harness
Ability to keep work area clean
Ability to work in high traffic areas
Perform other duties as assigned
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee is continuously exposed to moving machinery and mechanical parts
Employee may be exposed to fumes, air borne particles and chemical exposure due to the cleaning and sanitizing process
Temperature and or humidity extremes, as well as exposure to vibration
Noise levels are loud, but hearing protection is provided and mandated to be worn
Occasional exposure to electrical shock hazards
Occasionally may have to work in precarious places – PPE is provided and mandated
When working in process areas the work environment is wet and dirty
