Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for operating the automatic palletizer and related conveyor systems and stretchwrap machines.

Job Description

  • Start-up and shut down palletizers for Plant I and II, wrappers and related conveyor systems. While the system is in operation, trouble shoot mechanical operations of equipment. Check for and pull out damaged cases coming through the system. Set up proper sequence for 9 block patterns of stacking. Insert slipsheets in proper location in pallets of cases. During times when the palletizer is down, assist in hand stacking cases. Be available to put pallets in the pallet ejector when necessary.
  • Ensure that damaged cases are returned to the respective plants for recasing in a timely manner, and pull sample cases for Lab rechecks when the line is out of grade. Notify Packaging Supervisor of continuing problems with damaged cases or mechanical problems with any of the equipment.
  • Perform the above duties in a safe and efficient manner. Initiate action to repair unsafe equipment and communicate effectively with Maintenance, Package Operations, Forklift Operators and Supervisors.
  • Sort and pull out damaged pallets which might cause plugups.
  • Perform housekeeping duties as needed to keep equipment and area clean.
  • Perform other related duties as required by supervisory or lead personnel.
  • Set Case configuration
  • Load Pallets in the dispenser
  • AMD, CIL and Centerlines as necessary
  • Pull off damaged cases
  • Communicate with Team Leaders and Maintenance
  • Operate Palletizer Equipment and Troubleshoot
  • Load Slip sheets, tie sheets and stretch wrap
  • Change ticket media as necessary
  • Jog pallets on ATL System as needed

  • May be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.
  • Will work in an environment with moderate to loud noise level..
  • Regularly work around forklift traffic and moving mechanical parts or machinery.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s work location, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $22.72
