B&R Tech I - Days B
Job Description
This position properly operates Industrial Boiler and Refrigeration systems as well as performs repairs and maintenance on that equipment in the plant or office facilities, or on machines and other related equipment. Typically performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding. Conducts routine, periodic or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment. Uses hand and power tools. Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrates proper housekeeping continuously to insure safe and clean conditions in all areas of his/her responsibilities. Including locker/tool box.
- Demonstrates and complies with all Lockout/Tag out Policy and procedures.
- Acquires within 60 shifts of job assignment, ownership of the proper tools for the job. List provided by B&R maintenance lead.
- Identifies and explains potential hazards and safety procedures associated with the task being performed.
- Basic SAP skills (log in to check daily work).
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of mild steel welding with Mig, Arc.
- Possess good mathematical skills.
- Basic understanding of the PSM program. Date Verified _________
- Maintains accurate operator logs specific to B&R.
- Ability to lubricate B&R equipment as per PM’s.
- Demonstrate basic understanding of flow of a mechanical refrigeration system.
- Demonstrate basic understanding of flow of Boiler feed water and steam flow as well as condensate return.
- Proper oil draining procedures from vessels.
- Can demonstrate ability to charge oil to ammonia pumps/screw compressors.
- Ability to change oil filters on Ammonia screw compressors.
- Correct freeze issues and adjust tunnel to desired temperatures.
- Know all normal system operator parameters for Ammonia systems.
- Must have the ability to communicate verbally and written with Supervisory personnel and co-workers.
- Completed the Richland Maintenance new hire workbook.
