Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for understanding the plant electrical systems and equipment. The individual in this position must be capable of troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading the system. The position also lays out and installs new equipment and systems and maintains the factory “Continual Process Improvement.”
Job Description
Performs electrical, electronic, and instrumentation installations and repair tasks.
Supports others, including contractors, to help ensure work iscompletedaccording to project and plant specifications and standards.
Maintains, repairs, and installs plant lighting, all plant instrumentation systems thatincludesbutisnot limited to VFD’s, temperature and speed sensors and flow meters.
Programs andmaintainsplant PLC’s, plant SCADA systems,
Utilizes electrical/electronic prints and schematics, ladder logic, plant computer systems and the current National Electrical Code and test equipment to complete assigned tasks.
Takes all electrical line calls on assigned shift, performs and completes all jobs as assigned.
Completes all required phases of the work order systems.
Ensures that spare parts are available for plant systems, by correctly completing issues and assuring stock items arerequested.
Maintains electrical schematics and prints,as well asother electrical and control systems for documentation, ensuring that they are kept up to date.
Provides training and support for new electricians.
Ensures preventative and predictive maintenance is being completed as assigned and activelyinvolvedin the continual improvement of the preventative/predictive maintenance program.
Communicates with Team Leaders, Shift Managers, Supervisors and other employeesregardingequipment and/or line conditions.
Ensureattendance and participation in training activitiesappropriate tothe position and to incorporateacquiredskills and knowledge.
Ensures self-compliance with Company policies and procedures.
Responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, fabricating,operating, andmaintainingtoa high levelof reliability all electrical, control, and power distribution systems.
Ensures the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a participative management style, conducivetooperational goals.
Coordinates with Planner, Maintenance Administrator, Wet Line Mechanics, Electricians, Refrigeration and Boiler Mechanics, Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Team Leader, and Shift Manager.
May berequiredto work as a project coordinator for electrical, power distribution and control systems projects, involving contractors and/or plant personnel.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Certifications:(Required & Preferred)
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Lock-out/Tag-out and Sanitation certification arerequired. If you are not qualified, you will be trained and must meet certification requirements.
Must maintaincurrent Lock-Out Tag-Out, Arc flash, Electrical Shock hazard.
Must hold a certificate of completion from an approved 2-year trade school or equivalent experience in the electrical trade. A copy of school transcripts may berequired.
Must have a thorough knowledge of electrical systems.
Must know andhave an understanding of4160 VAC, 480 VAC, 277 VAC, 240 VAC, and 120 VAC, single phase and three phase electrical systems. In addition, AC and DC drives,motorsand circuits.
Must havegoodunderstanding of Allen Bradley, Programmable Logic Controllers SLC and Control Logix, and Control Systems.
Must know and understand plant motor control circuits, plant power distribution systems, the National Electrical Code,
Mustpossessbasic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Must be able to read and understand electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Must pass the Instrumentation Test
Skills and Experience:
Ability to become qualified withintimeframesestablishedby the facility.
Ability to communicate, understand instructions, and follow directions in English, both written and oral. (Requirements may vary depending on the location).
Physical Environment/Demands:
Ability toliftupto50pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hottocold in temperature
Exposure to manufacturing environments toinclude loudnoise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke,smellsand allergies
Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movementsrequiredfor job actions and procedures.
Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
Requires manual dexterity, overallcoordinationand good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability tooperatework related equipment
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation
Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis
