Job Description Summary
Lamb Weston in American Falls, ID is recruiting for an Industrial Engineer to support zero loss analytics, cost reduction and focused improvement in a high-volume manufacturing facility. Incumbent will need to be loss/cost reduction oriented, analytical and engaging, exhibit leadership skills and be able to teach & support loss reduction initiatives amongst the workforce. Incumbent will interface closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Finance and Production departments at both the Facility and Corporate Offices.
Job Description
Primary Activities and Responsibilities:
- Leads Zero Loss identification, prioritization and capability building throughout the facility.
- Provide analytics/leadership for all local activities focused on improving both the effectiveness and/or efficiency of operations
- Provides tracking and reporting functions to support the facility
- Supports focused improvement efforts in a TPM based, high performance operation
- Identifies, prioritizes, supports implementation and tracks cost reduction opportunities through data analyses
- Provides analytics and technical capability to facilitate sustainable cost reduction efforts, particularly within in the Focused Improvement pillar.
- Maintain understanding and communicate a Zero Loss process approach
- Utilize statistical methodologies to support data driven decision making
- Provide education and direction on Lean Manufacturing Processes to personnel
- Has some understanding of the following processes: Lean 6 Sigma, DMAIC methodology, Kaizen and SRCA methodologies.
- Supports Budgeting/Costing processes with accurate data. Oversees unit/component cost accuracy with finance partners.
- Develops and retains understanding and working knowledge of key Lamb Weston Processes & Systems to include:
- Bill of Materials System, Unit Cost System, Budgeting System, Manifest System, SAP, QA Systems, Shift Reporting System, Capital Approval Process etc.
- Develops and retains understanding and working knowledge of key Lamb Weston Processes & Systems to include:
- Supports Capital Investment strategies and provides program consultation/oversight
- Provides savings analysis/cost avoidance for all projects generating cost reduction
- Provide industrial engineering techniques to project design for effective and efficient labor and capacity utilization
- Develops data driven project/investment justifications
- Oversees/conducts time studies, loss analyses, and process modeling etc. to optimize current assets and resources as needed
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Position Qualifications:
- Manufacturing Experience (preferable in a food manufacturing environment)
- BS in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations or related field
- Proficient in MS Office with a high emphasis in Excel. Access and Mini Tab experience a plus
- Continuous Improvement qualifications (such as Lean Six Sigma) are a plus but not required
- Ability to understand and teach basic statistics including regression analysis, means analysis, control charts, histograms, etc.
- The ability to bring creative “outside the box” ideas to new and existing equipment and processes
- Experience in lean processes to include cost reduction methodologies, standards development and yield analyses.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively train and develop others.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate’s work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $92,480.00 - $138,710.00
